AR Rahman wins Golden Globe Award for 'Slumdog Millionaire'

Breaking News! It's official now. Bringing cheer to millions of movie freaks in India, music maestro AR Rahman won the Golden Globe Award for his original score in 'Slumdog Millionaire'.

AR Rahman won the coveted Golden Globe Award in the 'Best Original Music Score' category glittering ceremony in Los Angeles. The song 'Jai Ho' was written by lyricist Gulzar. AR Rahman created history by becoming the first Indian to win the Golden Globe Award.

The 'Slumdog Millionaire' also won three other awards - the 'Best Screenplay', 'Best Motion Picture' and 'Best Director' awards at the 66th Golden Globe ceremony. While Simon Simon Beaufoy won the Best Screenplay award for Slumdog Millionaire, Danny Boyle won the Best Director award for the movie.

'Slumdog Millionaire' also won the 'Best Motion Picture' award. The movie is now seen as a hot contender to bag some awards at the Annual Academy Awards (Oscar) to be held next month.
